Your very first appointment may take a little longer as we want to spend a little time getting to know you and your mouth. We will also ask you to complete a medical questionnaire as your general health may affect the dental treatment you receive.
You will spend around half an hour with your dentist who may want to take digital radiographs (x-rays) to check what’s going on behind the scenes such as hidden decay or bone loss that has resulted from gum disease. But please be reassured – at Paddington Dental Practice, we have invested in advanced digital technology so our patients are exposed to a minimal amount of radiation.
We will then carry out a thorough examination, including oral cancer screening, checking your teeth, gums and surrounding tissues. We will also be sure to listen responsively to any of your dental worries or problems.
Following an initial assessment, we will talk you through your treatment options so you can decide on an appropriate course of action, with plenty of helpful guidance from us. We will also be upfront about the cost of any proposed treatment so you know exactly what to expect and can plan accordingly.
